Grounded Cove Living began as a vision. I participated in a Shamanic Journey Circle seeking information from Spirit about how to get my Reiki practice up and running. I’ve had several different names over the past ten years and was looking for a real answer because that is clearly how the Creator of the universe works, right? I went on journey with others during this circle and the experience was other-worldly—as a Shamanic journey is meant to be. The vision unfolded before me and I was at a beach where there was lots of energy from people coming and going in sync with the energy of the waves. It was foggy and there was a tanker/barge off shore just visible. There was a lighthouse to my left, rocks and seashells along the water’s edge, and plants to my right. I felt secure in the midst of all this activity. The words that came to me were, “safe harbor.” I knew this was where I was called to be. The words “safe harbor” rang true as that is how I view myself. The people who have come through the campus ministry I served for a few years have given me feedback that they feel grounded after our gatherings. I am someone they trusted and like the lighthouse, I continued to be a beacon for them. And at the same time, “safe harbor” is also how I feel during Reiki session whether I am giving or receiving the energy. I would also describe God in this way—a refuge and stronghold through the storms in my life. I traveled home for the holidays and vacation (December 2018) and I spent time at the beach as I usually do when I’m in the Los Angeles area. I watched, listened, and meditated at the beach looking for confirmation. I took pictures and videos and even got a message from my (maternal) grandma while walking along the shoreline (pictured). I showed up and did my part but was left wondering if the vision I had was something I imagined. I made one last trip to the beach—but different beach from where I was earlier in my trip. It was a beautiful sunny day when I met my friend at a local restaurant. We reconnected during our meal and by the time we decided to go for a walk along the beach it turned foggy. Our intention was to connect with the full moon—which we did. I stood there listening to my friend as he shared the spiritual journey upon which he is currently embarking. You could have knocked me over with a feather while he was talking. That was when everything clicked—the vision from journey circle was playing out in live reality. This was the confirmation I was seeking. He stopped speaking and wondered what was happening. I did my best to explain and I’m grateful I was with a friend who “got it.” I took more photos and videos and then we did the ritual of releasing old programs in light of the full moon. It was other-worldly and just what I needed. It was pure guidance and full of limitless possibilities. That is the God of my understanding. This practice and business is born from another reality in the spiritual world. I continue to connect with Spirit for guidance and direction. Light and joy from Spirit are present and the signs are clear. This new adventure is grounded in who I am and how I have served in ministry to this point. “Safe harbor” which became “Grounded Cove” integrates who I am as a Minister and who I am as a practitioner of Reiki and other healing modalities. Grounded Cove Living has three components: ministry, energy balance, and restoration. These three components are reflected in the human body: connection to God/Spirit, life-force energy that energizes and enables our body, and connection to other people. You are connecting with Grounded Cove Living because your soul is speaking to you. Are you ready for spiritual renewal and grounding? |
